WELCOME TO THE WORLD......................

LUKAS DAVID!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My sister delivered this little guy Sunday April 11th at 12:40 am. She was a trooper. She had been having contractions on Saturday, but they were sporadic and never consistent. Then all of sudden they started full force and were 6 minutes apart. By the time she got to the hospital they were 2 minutes apart and she was dialated to a 7. Apparently, you have to get bloodwork done before they can administer the epidural. Needless to say, Lukas was not waiting for that business. She progressed from a 7 to a 10 in less than 30 minutes and so my sister delivered him au natural. David and my mom said she did amazing, even with having to wait to push since once she started the rounds of pushing the contraction slowed down to every 5 minutes. I was so sure I was going to hear her screaming from down the hallway, but not a peep. We are all so proud of her and our newest addition to the family. Can't wait to spoil him rotten. :)

Baby on the Brain

It has been almost two weeks since I shared our exciting news with blogger world, so now I am almost 10 weeks! Yesterday we had our first "big" appointment where we were asked lots of questions, told lots of information, and I had several things of blood drawn to check "things." I just love how I can no longer recall what all the "things" were, I only remember two (to check my thyroid and to see if I was a carrier of the gene for CF). I swear I have lost some of my brain once becoming preggo. My husband agrees, he said I get confused sometimes talking to him, and that is not like me. I hear this is normal so I'm guessing I'm not the only one?

Starting at 12 weeks I will start posting little stats about my pregnancy every other week to keep everyone up to date and to also have something for me to look back on.

One thing I was surprised about is the number of ultrasounds given in pregnancy or should I say the lack there of. I guess from watching movies and such I was under the impression that we would get one almost every time we went to the doctor. I found out they really only do 2 or 3. I already had one at 6 weeks (I am having lots of morning sickness as you already know so they wanted to make sure I just had 1 lil peanut in there and because of some pain I was experiencing on the right side). At 6 weeks our peanut was very small and hard for us to see without the tech pointing it out. We did get to hear the heartbeat which was the most amazing thing ever. I will never forget the look on Ryan's face when he heard it, so precious! I was told that every other time we go to the doctor we will get to hear our baby's heartbeat through a Doppler. So at 12 weeks I go back so I am hoping we get to hear it then.

We already have to start making some decisions for a our lil peanut. The doctor gave us several pamphlets on optional tests that we can have done. One is a first trimester quad screening and nuchal translucency test. We are having a hard time deciding if we want the tests. It is such a hard decision; it would great to have the tests and hear everything is normal, but on the other hand I hear there are lots of false positives that cause lots of worry and more testing. I need some feedback on this and I welcome all opinions.

Have a nice weekend!

Long Time No See..........And Some News

Well it's been awhile since I posted, I know same old story. I always have good intentions, but it is always something. Usually it is school and travel. Well now it is me.

I have been sick a lot and so tired. Well I know what you're thinking this sounds like and if so you are RIGHT! I am pregnant. :)

We found out the week before we went to Mexico. The trip was a great time to relax and take it all in. We are so excited! The last day of the trip morning sickness started and it has never stopped. I don't just have it in the morning though, it is all day. They need to rename it for sure!

We were trying, but we both just had a feeling it would take awhile. Well, it certainly didn't so it was a very pleasant surprise. I am currently 8 weeks. I have been dying to share the news (another reason for the lack of posting), but just wasn't sure when was the right time. I know we are not out of the woods yet, but I am ready to let the world know. Please pray for our little one to keep growing strong.

I will update you all soon with more info and maybe even share some pictures. :)

Back To Reality...

It is always sad getting back to the grind after vacation. Mexico was great, really relaxing, and just what we needed. The weather was not as warm as I would have liked (hence why I am still pretty pale), it has been one crazy winter so unpredictable, so I guess Mexico is no different. I will post some pictures as soon as I get everything sorted out at home.

We have been back home for 5 days and the only thing I have done is unpack. I wish I could say it is because I have been lazy, but I have been sick. It's been a rough week for me and I am starting to feel a little better. Thank God for my husband, he has been taking care of me, the house, and our puppy. He has endured my crabbiness, puking, crying, and even a hospital visit. He is such a trooper.

Well that's my short post. Bye for now.

What Do You Want To Know???

Ask me anything! I saw a few other bloggers do it and it sounds like fun. Is there anything you would like to know about me or my hubs Ryan? ANYTHING goes! Just ask!

Swap Loot

Last week I received a package in the mail from Taryn @ Mr. Jones and Me. She was my partner in the Simply Love Swap. I received lots of goodies and here is the proof! I just love getting stuff packages in the mail and this one was definitely a great one.

This bowl was filled to the brim with Starbursts and Snicker courtesy of Taryn (I already had some jelly beans in there). My husband would also like to thank Taryn as he is the one that enjoyed these delightful treats more often than I did. Can you tell he does not eat the yellow Starbursts. Ha!

Here is the rest of my loot, I definitely hit the jackpot! (2 headbands, lip gloss, hand cream, and very soft socks infused with shea butter.)

Taryn, thanks soooooooooooo much for everything, great choices, it was as if you you knew me or something.

Also, a shout out to Katie for putting this together it was really fun!
